Is your senior year in full swing? Are you trying to juggle classes, sports, college applications, work, and a social life? You are so close! You have now completed over 75% of your high school career and the light is shining at the end of your high school tunnel.
Does the thought of the college process overwhelm you? When should you apply, or have you already? Have you filled out the FAFSA yet? Teacher recommendation letters submitted? There is so much to think about and deadlines that have to be met.
Don’t stress yet! To help make this process easier and more centralized, Chatham County Schools’ have begun utilizing CFNC.org (College Foundation of North Carolina.) “College Foundation of North Carolina (CFNC) is a free service of the State of North Carolina provided by a collaboration of Pathways (the N.C. Department of Public Instruction, the N.C. Community College System, the N.C. Independent Colleges and Universities and The University of North Carolina System), the North Carolina State Education Assistance Authority, and College Foundation, Inc.
This is a phenomenal resource for seniors and their parents, but also, students of any age. “CFNC.org offers help with career and college planning – from elementary school students to adults. Here you can investigate future careers, open a college savings account, plan courses that lead to college, explore college choices, figure out how to pay for your education, and even complete college applications online.”
Simply, go to CFNC.org and create an account. The site allows students to take a very active role in their career and college planning. It is never too early or too late to start!
